Kit Seaton specializes in illustration and sequential art with a background in theatrical costume design. Her first published work is the children's book Nine Dragons: A Contemporary Fable, written by George Herman and printed by Tuttle Publishing in 2003. Her illustrative work is greatly inspired by her theatre experience and her fascination with Commedia dell'Arte, the Italian improvisational theatre that emerged in the 16th century. Kit studied costume design at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and finished her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in 2009. She is currently a freelance illustrator and an adjunct instructor in the illustration despartment at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design.
